Seven Summer Films

I will now attempt to review seven movies in seven minutes. No editing. Just minute long reviews.

Batman Begins
This was good, and I loves me some Batman, but it still felt like it was missing something. Plus I just rewatched the first Tim Burton Batman, and now I'm confused. Who really killed Bruce Wayne's parents? Who?

Bewitched
Oh, Will Ferrell. You are hilarious. Nicole Kidman I can take or leave. As with Batman, I loved Bewitched as a child and had high hopes. They were only slightly crushed. Maybe dented. Dented dreams of movie loving.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Jennifer Aniston could not have played this part. Maybe it's why they broke up. Brad was like, "I could totally be an assassin, but could Jen? No way! What if I want to leave the business and be an assassin? Better break this off before it comes to that."

Madagascar
Penguin love! They're so cute, what with their plotting and their scheming. I wasn't so sure about the other plot. The moral of the story is... don't make a life change or you'll want to eat your friends? Yeah, I'm unclear on that.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Bad bad bad acting. Okay, that's a cheap shot. No one watches Star Wars for the acting. Are their OBGYNs in the future? Apparently not.

The Longest Yard
I weirdly liked this movie. Maybe I was in a good mood or something, but I felt entertained. Except for the random tragic death of one of the characters. It was like funny, funny, funny, tragic death, funny, funny.

Cinderella Man
Ron Howard is awesome, and not just because he's the narrator on Arrested Development. That's the main reason, but it's not the only reason! He also makes films that make me like Russell Crowe. I'm not sure about Renee Zellweger anymore. I used to love her, but now she seems to be on the verge of craziness. Anyway, even though the ending of this movie was a little obvious (who makes true stories about losers?), I still enjoyed going along for the ride.

Comments

It was like funny, funny, funny, tragic death, funny, funny.

That made me choke on my Pepsi. Hilarious.

Also, best reviews ever.
Well, I hate Ron Howard (AD aside), but I might have to choke down Cinderella Man. Especially because if I see it at an AMC theatre, I can get my money back! That'd be nice.

But A Beautiful Mind was the worst piece of crap to ever win an Oscar for Best Picture.

I'm sad you didn't like Batman more. I didn't feel like it was missing something, but it sure had one unnecessary element: Katie Holmes. I just saw it again, and her story with Bruce Wayne is totally without chemistry and NO ONE CARES. I mean, seriously, who cares if she knows his identity or kisses him? And why is she all so, "I won't date you if you're Batman?" Actually, nevermind, cause I DON'T CARE.

And the action sequences were a little long and gratuitious. But other than that, I think that this is the best Batman movie we'll ever see. The one that works the most as a film, and the one that stays truest to the spirit of the comics. (I have no idea how Nolan's going to make a sequel as good as that movie.)

Burton's movies were pretty and occasionally interesting and sometimes funny/sexy, but they weren't about Batman. They were about visuals - Gotham City, mostly, and the villans second. They weren't about Batman. This is the first movie to be truly about Batman.

PS. Begins had it closer - a no-name hood kills his parents during a hold-up. However, it was right after they saw The Mask of Zorro, not an opera. But the Joker definitely did not kill his parents. And the one thing I missed was that line from the original comic - "Criminals are a cowardly and superstitous lot." Tee hee. It would've been funny if Christian Bale had said that.
aww i miss reading this lol "What if I want to leave the business and be an assassin? Better break this off before it comes to that."

Oh yeah and I must say your movie reviews were hillarious *envies*
And Ron Howard is 797.23444% Cool in my book merely for his narrating on the Bluth family

I think it's cool that you like the icon. Besides, it's an unwritten rule that Arrested Development fans can do whatever they want and not feel bad. Thanks for the comment on the reviews too.
Do you mind if I add your movie reveiws lj to my friends page?

I love them too much to not have them gracing my friends page
